The earliest photo that has been located of Poughkeepsie Airport was a May 1, 1936, aerial view. It depicts a rectangular grass airfield with a single hangar at the northeast corner. This shot also illustrates why the airport was passed over because of constraints (stream bed to south and west, public road north and east) that limited the ability to extend the runways. Issues that were not associated with other locations. (Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields)
